RUSSELL Russell kept piling on the runs against Ironton on Friday.
Meanwhile, Issac Jenkins allowed the Fighting Tigers absolutely nothing.
The sophomore threw a perfect game in a 10-0 Red Devils victory in five innings. Jenkins struck out 11 hitters, throwing a tidy 75 pitches, 47 for strikes.
Justin Manning drove in four runs, including a two-run home run that gave Russell the 10-run margin necessary for a mercy rule in the bottom of the fifth inning. He had two hits.
Chaz Whitt had three hits, including two doubles, and Casey Hensley connected on two base knocks for the Red Devils (12-13).
Garrett Carrico took the decision for the Fighting Tigers, working three innings.
Earlier Friday, Russell knocked off West Carter, 10-3. Whitt hit a three-run long ball, Jacob Funk homered and doubled, and Hensley had two hits.
Hensley also got the win, allowing one run on two hits over four innings. He struck out six Comets and walked one.
Peyton Brown had two hits, including a home run, for West Carter (7-15).
Trace Tackett started and was the pitcher of record for the Comets, who dropped their seventh straight.
