Science Olympiad Nationals for RMS & RHS

RMS

The Science Olympiad students had a very successful year! They placed 30th out of 60 teams, had one event place in the top 6, and a few events place in the top 15 in the nation. Our coaches (Mr. Elliott, Mr. Branim, Mrs. Suttles, and Mrs. Campbell), and the parent volunteers put in many hours before and after school to make sure that our students were prepared.  The kids were well behaved, and we are very proud of them!

RHS

The High School Science Olympiad team finished in 22nd place out of 60 teams (larger states get to enter 2 teams to push the number to 60), which is a great place for a school of our size.  This is the 2nd highest place that the high school has finished.

Alex Nguyen & Ryan Bronstein won 4th place in the Technical Problem Solving Event.

Aaron Hoback & Sami Abul-Khoudoud won 6th place in the Air Trajectory Event.

Taylor Hsieh & Danny Abul-Khoudoud was just off stage in the 7th place in Scrambler Vehicle Event.

Other top 20 events were:

Bungee Drop - 19th place (Sami Abul-Khoudoud & Allison Aldrich)

Time - 16th place (Danny Abul-Khoudoud & Aaron Hoback)

Misson Possible Rube Goldberg Machine - 15th place (Taylor Hsieh & Alex Nguyen)

Wright Stuff Balsa Plane - 19th place (Danny Abul-Khoudoud & Allison Aldrich)

Thank you for the encouragement and support throughout the season!
