Red Devils rush past Pendleton

BUTLER Grant Bates and Landen Duvall both eclipsed 130 rushing yards as Russell had its way at Pendleton County, 49-14, on Thursday.

Bates found the end zone thrice as he toted nine times for 138 yards. Duvall exhibited his big-play tendencies with a 70-yard rush as he lugged it six times for 131 yards and a score.

Ethan Sharp and Malakai Anderson also contributed rushing TDs.

Austin Church was 8 of 15 for 109 yards and a touchdown through the air. He connected with Jacob Thompson for the TD. Reed Galloway was the leading receiver with four catches for 39 yards.

Russell held Pendleton County to 2.7 yards per carry.

In all, Russell amassed 456 yards on 52 offensive plays. The Red Devils (3-4) will travel to Lewis County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
